365 Photo Challenge

So its the start of a brand new year! And here is your golden opportunity to begin 2019 with an awesome "Project 365" (one-photo-a-day).

This month we kick off our second year of The Photo Club's #365NotesToYou on Instagram. We would love you to join us, on our quest for completing #365NotesToYou for 2019.

All you need to do is start posting on your own Instagram account, adding our #365NotesToYou hashtag, along with your 'note'. Your note can be anything - to a person, an animal, a feeling, a place, a thing...whatever. In case you need some reasons to start, we have 5 good ones to hand!

1) IT WILL HELP YOU COMMIT MEMORIES...TO MEMORY

For those of you who can't remember what you had for dinner yesterday. Who can't remember what happened in the last film you watched. Who is known as the 'forgetful one' in the family. A 365 Project is exactly for you.

This is my 'reason why'. The reason why I have done a 365 Project every year since 2014. Because I am so, so forgetful and I really want to be able to remember the everyday, the little things, the things I have now forgotten.

2) YOU WILL DEVELOP YOUR PHOTOGRAPHY SKILLS SUPER FAST

It was Henri Cartier-Bresson who famously said, “Your first 10,000 photographs are your worst.”

I can guarantee you that over the course of 365 days you will take over and above 10,000 photos... and that is absolutely the best way to practice, practice and practice your photography skills.

Your composition and your technique will change and develop so quickly; you will learn to capture the same scene differently, you will be stretched, challenged, stuck, unstuck, bored...and ultimately inspired.

I took this photo of two of my children back in 2012 when I was just starting to learn photography. It was 'this moment' when I realized exactly what inspired me (human connection)...and I wish the same for you over the next 365 days.

3) IT IS THE BEST WAY TO DOCUMENT THEIR YEAR

Ok this one is slightly obvious but we are putting it out there 🤗

The best way to document real life - the life that is completely unique to you and your family - is to shoot daily with whatever camera you have available to you.... DSLR, phone, iPad!

4) SHARE YOUR EVERYDAY MOMENTS WITH YOUR FAMILY

Surely taking photos everyday of your children, of your daily life, activities and interactions is THE BEST way to keep your family updated with how much they change over the course of a year? Yes it is ;-)

5) LEARN SOMETHING NEW - FOR YOURSELF

Oh yes....your time has come. Is coming. WILL COME THIS YEAR!!!

When was the last time you learnt a new hobby? Did something completely for yourself (well, and your family too as learning photography is ultimately the best way to document your family history)?

Get motivated and start something new - for yourself - today.
